This small 500watt wind powered electric generator can supplement a home’s needs or keep a small building, pump house or outhouse off the grid.  It’s the MCT-500 by Oersted Technologies, Japan.

Bar Speakers from Exelway have great fidelity and are only millimeters thin.  They have sizes for all installations and some that look like molding.

The Moneual Smart Care system for the hearing impaired detects a wide range of noises and sounds that occur and transmits this information to its user, giving the hearing impaired users awareness of all sounds while keeping then safe from risks.  A CES Innovations Award winner.

Social Backup


Seagate’s CES Innovations Award winner is its line of Backup Plus Hard Drives that deliver simplified back up from a PC but also offer a way to back up from Social Media sites like Facebook and Flickr.

Tune It App


Alpine’s Tune It App won a CES Innovations Award for giving users an easy way to tune their sound system using their smartphone and stay connected to Facebook while driving safely.  (An assumption was made that they use text-to-speech-like functionality in the car audio system to cover the Facebook part.)

All-In-One LTE Gateway


This unit from ZyXEL is an all-in-one fixed LTE gateway with multitude of access and home connectivity options including wireless-n, 4-port gigabit switch, USB ports and 2 SIP based VoIP Ports.  The LTE5121 won a CES Innovations Award.

Action EGO


The Liquid Image EGO Wi-Fi Sport Camera can transmit to an App and is fully waterproof and HD; a CES Innovations Award winner for their live streaming capability.

Connected In-Dash Navigation

The Kenwood DNN990HD has built-in Wi-Fi to connect to smartphones and hot spots to enrich the “driving experience” by bringing social media and other Internet data to the car.  The use of Wi-Fi won them a CES Innovations Award.

Micro and Wireless


The JBL Micro Wireless ultra-portable speaker has a built-in bass port for better sound than usual from these pocket speakers.

Windows 8 Touchpad


Another CES Innovations Award win for Logitech is the T650 Touchpad.  This unit bridges the gap between standard PC’s without a touch display and the Windows 8 touch user interface.

Over the Ear Wireless Headset

The Logitech UE 9000 are wireless headphones with built-in microphone and fully BlueTooth enabled.  It also packs noise cancellation and “laser” tuned drivers for great sound.  This is one of the only full-sized headphones that can be used as a headset and won a CES Innovations Award.

Good to the Bone


The AfterShotz headphones sit in front of the ear and use “bone conduction technology” to deliver sound through the cheekbones to the inner ear.  This is a safe way for personal listening and won a CES Innovations Award.

Solar Powered Generator


For emergency or day-to-day off the grid activities, the Yeti 1250 can run many small appliances for days and a refrigerator for 30 hours.  This is a green sustainable product and also won a CES Innovations Award.

Hisense XT780 Google TV

This 55-incher had integrated Google TV, which is an “aggregation engine” for all of the content within and available to your home.  Google TV uses their search expertise to make everything viewable in one display using one remote control.  Hisense won a CES Innovations Award but they might want to give it to Google; the display was “ok” looking.

Urban Weather Station


The Netatmo Urban Weather Station can monitor Indoor and Outdoor Air Quality and other Weather reads so you know if it’s better to go out or stay in.  It was a triple CES Innovations Award winner.

Hapilabs introduced the HapiFork.  A fork that talks to an App or PC that measures and monitors your eating habits and they claim they will help you lose weight.  It won a CES Innovations Award.

Solar Keyboard


Logitech’s solar keyboard is BlueTooth enabled to easily connect to a Mac and eliminate the need for batteries.  This device won a CES Innovations Award under the Tech for a Better World category because of its recharging capability and it’s even comes in PVC free packing and a recycled box.

Digitally Processed In-Canal Hearing Aid


Able Planet Inc. won their CES Innovations Award for using their proprietary DSP technology to better the sound quality of their heading aids.  The used noise reduction and other enhancements to equalize the sound for certain deficiencies.

2-Way Car Alarm


The Omega Excalibur won a CES Innovations Award for its ability to communicate two way allowing users to upload configurations and act as a gateway for other electronics in the car.  This unit is a deluxe alarm and remote start system.

Connected Bike


This bike was wired for telemetry and had a wireless connection that could report a rider’s progress and other parameters back to a team.

3D Printing



There were a number of 3D Printers at the show.  This one is by Cubify and is the CubeX.  All of the items on the shelves were “printed” using this unit or one of its bigger brothers.
